Qualifications:
•    Minimum BS Degree in Petroleum Engineering.
•    A minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in drilling engineering and operations.
•    Have a current certificate in BOP and well control.
•    Have a valid Saudi driving license or a Saudi Arab Government acceptable international license to drive Company’s Saudi vehicles.
•    Resolve difficult and unusual problems which could otherwise delay drilling progress.
•    Make decisions under emergency operating conditions to solve problems and protect rig crew, rig and well.

Job Specifications:
•    Receive technical advice from and cooperate and coordinate with drilling and engineering and review well programs.

•    Evaluate efficiency of operations, plan and implement improvements, review drilling programs and assume direct responsibility for carrying out individual well programs.

Safety Advisor

Location: Middle east

The Safety Advisor is based on a Jack Up Drilling Rig working over production platform in SIMOPS environment.
Average daily production is: 150 000 bbls gross
Off shore field with five main production platforms and three well satellite platforms, connected to 2 processing facilities. Around 40 production wells activated by electrical submersible pumps (ESP), 6 water injection wells and 3 water source wells equipped with ESP’s.


1) Primary mission is to assist onboard representative (Co Man) in all HSE related aspects on the rig. This includes, but is not limited to the following points.
1.1 Witness critical operations, such as:
- BHA make up
- BOP N/U, N/D
- Heavy lifts
- Casing running operations
- Witness work on platform during SIMOPS

1.2. Procedures review :
- Liase with Rig Contractor and Co Man to review essential Risk Analysis, Job Safety    Analysis, as well as pre-job/toolbox meetings.
- At Co Man request, review PTW's (Permit to Work)
- Review Safety compliance of procedures and programs coming from town

1.3. SIMOPS aspects
- Maintain updated the SIMOPS file of a specific platform, in agreement with SIMOPS rules available on rig site
- Ensure tests required in SIMOPS are performed and documented (ESD, deluge system etc)

1.4. Propose and supervise on site HSE compliance campaigns:
- HSE training (Handling and Lifting, pinch points....)
- Audit H2S protection system (equipment, training…)
- Drop Object campaign
- Hygiene inspections
- QC Inspection of lifting gear (slings, cranes, shackles and bolts, safety pins etc…)
- Verify safe use and storage of dangerous goods
- Promote HSE on site, motivate personnel to safe behaviour and organise information campaigns
- Participate to pre-job/toolbox meetings randomly

2) Safety Advisor has following reporting duties:
- Rig weekly HSE report
- Monthly Site Committee report (Secretary of the meeting, contribution to define)
- Spill reports : oil and chemical spill reporting as per company procedures
- Incident / Near Miss reports as per company procedure
- daily contact with HSE manager

3) Other duties
- Stop cards tracking: ensure adequate corrective actions are undertaken for most significant stop cards
- Witness safety drills and check for compliance with company Contingency Plan.

Professional Experience:
Experienced in the design, engineering and implementation of processes and processing systems for onshore and offshore hydrocarbon production and processing facilities.

Responsibilities:
General responsibilities include analysis, design, specification, selection and implementation of plant process and related equipment and systems.  More specific responsibilities are defined below:
